There are currently five MCT teams playing in the bonspiel. I am hoping to sign up a couple of more teams that are in attendence. There are 16 total teams entered. This is the first time since at least 2001 the Calder has had a full slate of teams. One of the goals of the MCT was to attract more teams to undersubscribed events. It seems to have worked for the first event of the season.
The Calder is a four event bonspiel. Winning the first event will garner 400 points and finishing as first event runner-up is worth 350 points. This is based on a standard 16 team draw.
